Imagen
For this final activity, I have selected the great Time Toast by Mari Carmen P. https://www.timetoast.com/timelines/2696429 Now, my students are going to be encouraged to: Consult her Time Toast to check both the target layout they should get and the different Agatha Christie's novels to select one. Once they have selected a novel from A. Christie, they must investigate on the internet its synopsis. Sum up the novel to make a summary on TimeToast.com highlighting the main facts occurred. Lastly, they must present the result to the rest of the class. The main goals of this activity is to: Work cooperatively. Use the internet to look for information. Learn to use Time Toast. To comprehend and summarise information. In this way, the whole class make a thorough summary of Agatha Christie's main novels

Oral interaction with Genially

This activity fosters oral interaction among the students. These are the steps to be developed: Students are grouped. The students look for information about the current billboard and the prices of the cinema's bar. The students plan the organisation of that information on Genially. The teacher provides the students guidance to direct the oral interaction, proposing topics to talk about (prices, menu, film's synopsis, etc.). The teacher helps to solve any technical problem about Genially. The students direct the discussion and agree with the whole class on: Film selected. Menu selected. Meeting point. Time to meet. The students grouping and timing is decided by the teacher, depending on the students' skills and trying to make heterogeneous groups. Below can be seen the final product from the students: https://view.genial.ly/61b62017a64dd70da16f51f8/presentation-presentacion-television This activity allowed the students to develop several key competences and skills, as they

For this task, I divided the class into groups, to divide the amount of tasks necessary to create the comic. Steps followed to create the comic: Group 1 decide the plot. Group 2 design the scenes. Group 3 design the characters. Group 4 includes the dialogues, agreed with the rest of the class. The whole class revise the draft to check mistakes and possible modifications. Final version is published.   Learning objectives:  Express daily routines. Use of frequency adverbs. Talk about likes. Use the structure like + -ing. Foster imagination and creativity. Respect turn-taking and contribute to your group. The whole class decide and revise the dialogues, which are the practical way that proves the goal accomplishment. Students create, from a blank document, a complete comic, without following any model and discussing ideas. Students respect each other and share a common device to create the comic. The aspect they enjoyed the most was the fact of creating a personal, original final task app

Edpuzzle about a short story

Link to the resource: https://edpuzzle.com/media/61b1ba70140f4b42b235a8a5 I chose this video as it's a short story, supported with images (which are also attractive to Primary Education students) and with an easy vocabulary range. The learning objectives are: Global understanding of the story. Understanding of particular details within the story. Dealing with ordinal numbers. Dealing with Past Simple verbs. Dealing with feelings. Previous activity: students match vocabulary of the lesson using wordwall.net and solve a word search in pairs. Post activity: students are encouraged to invent a second part of the story in pairs. They can use Vocaroo to record the story (only audio). The most successful aspects of this activity were its simplicity, as students' attention was high and their interest too. Successful oriented questions in Edpuzzle was another key point. Working in pairs for the post activity was another crucial decision, as some students are less capable than others, so

Reflect on reading habits

Imagen
Taking into account my reading habits, they have changed since I was a child. Then, I read to accomplish the school homework , as the teacher encouraged us to read a certain amount of books per year. Later, when I was a teenager, I started reading for pleasure. I had a lot of free time and I spent a brief time reading before going to sleep. All this reading was in my mother tongue: Spanish, with traditional paper books. Nowadays, I have changed my reading habits, as I mainly read in English, just research and specialized articles about education, using my laptop or tablet (reading PDF's or online). Taking a look at these pictures, I supose that people in the first, third and fifth photos are reading for pleasure, as they are reading books and a newspaper. Maybe the second and fourth pictures are proof of reading for an academical purpose, and their books could be chosen by another person, not for themselves. The people that are reading freely should feel relaxed, with a purpose
