Pixton

For this task, I divided the class into groups, to divide the amount of tasks necessary to create the comic.

Steps followed to create the comic:

  1. Group 1 decide the plot.
  2. Group 2 design the scenes.
  3. Group 3 design the characters.
  4. Group 4 includes the dialogues, agreed with the rest of the class.
  5. The whole class revise the draft to check mistakes and possible modifications.
  6. Final version is published.

  Learning objectives:

  • Express daily routines.
  • Use of frequency adverbs.
  • Talk about likes.
  • Use the structure like + -ing.
  • Foster imagination and creativity.
  • Respect turn-taking and contribute to your group.
The whole class decide and revise the dialogues, which are the practical way that proves the goal accomplishment.

Students create, from a blank document, a complete comic, without following any model and discussing ideas.

Students respect each other and share a common device to create the comic.

The aspect they enjoyed the most was the fact of creating a personal, original final task applying all the knowledge of the unit.

Next time, I would divide the class too, but to create one comic per group.

The comic was shared through screenshots, as the basic plan account doesn't allow sharing nor downloading the final project.

As I said before, students finished their work and evaluated all its aspects in big group, showing the comic on the interactive whiteboard and reflecting on grammar, vocabulary and artistic and technical aspects.

  2. The entry chosen is the one about Pixton because it is a really well-prepared comic using an interactive tool to create a funny text fostering students’ imagination and promoting their linguistic competences by means of authentic material. Thus, they work their digital competence as well and share knowledge in that team group.

Nevertheless, this website doesn’t allow free users to download and share the content and this has undervalued the presentation of my partner because the liveliest a task is, the worthiest it is shown. However, the images are well designed in movement showing the actions performed and, that way, the comic accomplish the desired objectives to arrive successfully to the reader.
